Stream Basement Jaxx’s Retrospective Album ‘Junto’

Basement Jaxx have been locked away in the studio for almost five years now working away on their return album ‘Junto’ with the final offering up for streaming below.

For the British pair this will be their seventh (yes seventh!) studio record in a career that has spanned over a decade with ‘Junto’ sounding in-part like a retrospective piece of work, with that message only affirmed when explaining in a recent interview with The Guardian their stance on ‘EDM’;

“It’s less soulful. Like an aerobics class. Musically, I don’t think there’s much of it that will last.”

The album as a whole has flow for starters, something missing from a lot of stuff being released these days and carefully wafts from dance-ready weapons to big glistening pop anthems.

Special mention must go to one of our favourites from the release “Never Say Never” featuring ETML that we were swooning over at the start of July that’ll no doubt be a big ole summer anthem.

What do we rate it? Old fans will enjoy and some of the singles will catch the eyes of the next generation of dance heads. 9/10
