Kickstarter Looks To Turn Disused Sea Fort Into ‘Berghain of the Sea’

A disused sea fort at the mouth of the Thames Estuary in Kent (that’s in the UK for the non-poms) is up for sale with a local house and techno promoter looking to purchase it and turn it into a rather adventurous club location.

With a kickstarter on GoFundMe already netting £55,000 pounds, the entrepreneurs Minival who are behind the initiative are looking for the whopping sum of £750,000 to make it a safe and unique party spot with hopes for it to be the “Berghain or Trouw in the middle of the sea”.

A post on The Guardian about the sale outlines the dangers or advantages in this case with the fort only accessible during low tide about 1km out to sea meaning a lock-in 12 hour set wouldn’t be out of the ordinary. Oh and it’s ‘bomb proof’ depending who played on any given night!

The guys behind it certainly can dream posting on the kickstarter page;

Imagine a place you could go to, to get away from it all. With the worlds best DJ’s and music running continuously. A place where you are allowed the true freedom to express yourself among friends. Lets do this. 150’000 people donating £5 each would deliver us this fort from the party gods. Every single donator would be a fort member for life.

Since refunds are being offered if the goal isn’t achieved why not throw caution to the wind at the chance of partying your pants off at a sea fort before diving in.

Let’s do it people!
