Following his stellar ‘Drone Logic‘ LP with Phantasy last year, Daniel Avery is back with the London label with a string of remixes on tracks from the record.
One cut in particular that deserves the utmost attention and relentless rinsing is Roman Flügel’s interpretation of ‘All I Need’. Roman has been rising in stature of late, despite being on the electronic music scene since the 90’s, primarily due to his God-sent collaboration with Simian Mobile Disco on the ‘Hachinoko / Ikizukuri’ EP this year, one of my favourites thus far in 2014. He is known for being somewhat of a chameleon with his music in the sense that he has dabbled with numerous genres and this time around he’s gone for some dark and hypnotic tech-house vibes. The haunting, deep and swooning vocals lull you in and then at around the 1:40 mark the brooding bass and horn-like chords provoke relentless head bopping and shape pulling well suited to any sticky light-famished dancefloor.
This track features alongside Ricardo Tobar’s remix of ‘These Nights Never End’ in 12″ and digital format.
