Burning Man Shuts Down Temporarily

Dangerous thunderstorms with heavy rain has forced the famous Burning Man festival to shut down temporarily – there will be no entry onto The Playa until most possibly Tuesday (Nevada Time).

The official Facebook page issued a statement quoting:

“At the request of Burning Man organizers, Nevada Highway Patrol will be directing traffic away from Highway 447 at Wadsworth. Also at the request of organizers, local law enforcement have also begun turning around traffic at the event entrance on Highway 34 northeast of Gerlach. Drivers are being instructed to find a safe location to park until the expected re-opening of the event on Tuesday.”

For those who haven’t even made it to the famous festival, organisers have advised those people should remain where they are and will be alerted when entry is reopened.
