Scuba’s Hotflush imprint has just returned after his ‘Phenix’ EP trilogy and South London Ordnance’s ‘Contact’ 12″ with scene newcomer Auden’s latest release, a four track self-titled EP displaying “unsullied atmospherics, large-scale techno, acid, dub, and two-step.” While little about Auden himself (or herself?) is known – the accompanying press release described the producer as merely a “fresh voice in UK techno” – track number two, “Flux”, shows a keen ear in the underground and the darker realm of club music, with its unrelenting kick pressure and percussion proving to be a pulsing tune for the dedicated heads.
