Ridiculous EDC Kinetic Cathedral Stage Sets Record

Creating a house to hold the anything-but-holy, EDC’s Kinetic Cathedral stage has set a record for the largest stage ever assembled in North America.

The mammoth stage totally owned U2’s 360 Tour stage, which many had thought to be the biggest feat in live music engineering until this point. Nup.

Titled the Kinetic Cathedral or KineticFIELD, the monster of a stage featured stain glass displays and a mock pipe organ surrounding the DJ booth. Standing at 44o feet wide and a ginormous 80 meters tall – the stage kicked 360‘s ass, being over double it’s size.

Employing a mere 2.5 million watts of power to function, the stage toted 28 LED displays, 1,000 light fixtures and 30 lasers, not to mention a shitload of fire n stuff. Not bad to electro house performers such as Martin Garrix, Steve Angello and 3LAU.

With gigantic aesthetics popping up over the global festival circuit (check out some more cray festival art here) – we cant help but feel like this one will be a toughie to beat!

Holey moley!
