Ribongia’s chaotic world of Slave Trade

Pandemonium couldn’t even begin to articulate this sensory experience, finding and losing yourself amongst ‘Slave Trade’ is deliriously enjoyable. Originating from Italy, the Sydney producer Ribongia brings to the table a next level, strike that, a multi level intense layer cake of sampling, synths, and sick syncopated beats.

The metronomic introduction is a fast moving game of percussive Tetris, mounting rapidly with each pulsating layer, which from the moment of the drop, powers through to the end relentlessly and wildly through a vast array of different musical ideas. The warped vocal sound samples link together the different video-game-like levels of the song; busting with a sick juke/footwork element, it’s all about the mix of gritty bass beats and hyper synth sounds that make your heart race with excitement. There’s never a dull moment, as before you’ve even got a handle on what’s happening, the sound has already evolved into it’s next phase of energetic existence.

While we eagerly wait for Ribongia’s ‘It Began’ EP to drop with the new October Records label, you can feed your addiction for the chaotic by getting your hands on Slave Trade when it’s officially released on iTunes tomorrow.
