Dutch creative company Yalp has thought outside of the box, or club for this one in creating the first ever permanent outdoor usable DJ decks dubbed ‘Fono’.

The theory is simple, todays prominent artists are now DJs… teenagers, even kids look up to DJs in the same way your parents got groovy to the classic rock of yester-year hence comes the evolution of the playground to suit just that.

Anyone can walk up to the ‘Fono’, slap their smartphone down to sync the music from it in an easy and wireless way and start spinning tracks! Multiple effects are on hand including loop, delay, crush, scratch, filter and more as the ability to cue/pre-listen to the tracks. Powered by solar panels and this things seems pretty nifty!

Even with the above it does have its drawbacks in offering as few moving parts as possible and sans an actual pitch slider or any EQ knobs so you’re music better be in damn high quality.

There is a cool short video giving us a run down of the concept and idea but we get the feeling this thing hasn’t actually run out just yet but something overly clever in getting kids outside instead of missing out on those important rays!
