Finally Nile Rodgers Releases Solo Single

At long last, musical master and collaborators collaborator has released a new single, and predictably, it’s as smooth and upbeat as the legend himself.

After having a bumper to bumper year in 2013, providing those unforgettable (and yeah, they’re jarring a bit now) guitar riffs on Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’, ‘Give Life Back To Music’ and ‘Lose Yourself to Dance’, not to mention collabs with Avicii, Disclosure, Chase and Status, Tensnake…the list goes on and on into the musical abyss…

What we haven’t heard is the sound of Rodgers flying solo – until now, that is. Bearing most resemblance to the Disclosure collaboration and bachelor-pad anthem ‘Together’, ‘Do What You Want’ is an uplifting homage to true disco.

Recorded at last years International Music Summit in (where else but) Ibiza, the song was auctioned off to raise money for the We Are Family Foundation and is set for release by Cr2 Records on August 10, along with remixes from Eats Everything, Rob Da Bank and MK.

Finally, a summery anthem that makes you wanna throw your arms in the air like you just don’t care, and so forth.

So warm up your disco fingers and check out the link below;
