Bobby Womack Streams Jump By Insane Amount

It’s no surprise following the unfortunate passing of veteran RnB/soul musician Bobby Womack last week aged 70 that there would be a surge in popularity of people wanting to listen to his entire discography of soulful hits.

Thankfully the eggheads over at Spotify figured out that in the days after the news came a whopping 1120% increase in users listening to Bobby Womack wares – can’t blame them right?

We haven’t got a proper breakdown of what exactly they set their ears to but it could have been anything from his classic album ‘The Poet’ (1981) or his more recent and heartfelt effort ‘The Bravest Man In The Universe’ on mega indie XL Records that was actually produced by Damon Albarn who’s work as the Gorillaz meant Bobby contributed to their hit “Stylo” alongside Mos Def.

At first glance of Bobby’s popular tracks on Spotify you can see the top three tracks have all breached over a million plus streams with another two all heading a similar way.

Personally we’re feeling a fitting listen to “If You Think You’re Lonely Now” is in order.

That or a Womack and Womack classic “Teardrops” by his younger brother Cecil and his wife Linda. The whole damn family has it right?
