Porter Robinson Channels Japan with ‘Lionhearted’ Video

One look at Porter Robinson’s tumblr and you get a pretty firm idea of how he gets a lot of his influences. Amongst the photos of himself and the geomteric gifs lays a ton of Anime, fan fiction, the word “Kawaii” and other things generally influenced by our friends in the Far East. Now it appears to have all come to a head, as his latest music video, the accompaniment to his recently released “Lionhearted”, tells the story of him generally causing a complete ruckus with a bunch of Harajuku girls. Jodep takes the reigns with directing duties for the clip, having already worked on the incredibly feels-laden clip for Language a couple of years ago (was it already that long?). Also added into the mix are the talents of Harajuku-based stylist Elleanor Yamaguchi a.k.a. Elleanor Tokyo, which give everything a distinctly japanese authenticity. Quite frankly, it’s everything Avril Lavigne’s video should have been, minus the deeply-hideous song. Give it a squizz here!
