Kaskade has felt the heavy hand of the Soundcloud law receiving no less than 32 takedowns in the past couple of days that has left him feeling somewhat disheartened about the platform, who in recent months has buckled under pressure from major labels to fix the continuing issue of copyright.
The result? Most likely the Ultra signed artist will have his Soundcloud returned but understand it’s a bit of a kick in the guts, especially knowing how active you have to be on an almost daily basis to keep growing it, and a week’s hiatus can cause serious problems on release schedules and messaging.
Furthermore Kaskade, who’s been giving away classic albums, has decided to take things one further vowing to make amends with his own constructed ‘platform’ that’ll house all good things from the humble producer. We’ll see it when we believe it though as Soundcloud has earned enough credit over the years as a massive game changer for artists worldwide.

I imagine over the next week my entire sound cloud will be taken down. Sorry but there is nothing I can do here.

It’s a bummer as I have worked to build that page up and put great stuff on there. (*shrugs shoulders) ahhh well.

Although 70% of my sound cloud has been taken down you might want to consider visiting it and grabbing those last bits…
— Kaskade (@kaskade) June 4, 2014
Yes, so I will move forward with constructing my own portal where I can share what I like when I like.

Nice! Just wanna share w/ others. Is that so wrong? “@ultrarecords: @kaskade we don’t know how it happened, but it should be back up asap!”
