Justin Jay – Instincts EP

Young buck Justin Jay has been rolling with the Dirtybird crew for quite some time now. Under the wing of big man Claude Von Stroke, Jay has honed a deep sound driven from house to techno. The San Fran-based label has coined a Cali-style techno with a signature seductive bass groove. Jay has fit right in coming of age with the west coast crew.

Right out of the gate the starter track is a driving Detroit punch ‘Analysis Paralysis’. This deep Dirtybird kid calls SoCal home but this tune definitely defined the birthplace of techno and this production. The second tune screams super late night Ibiza; a poppy tech house beat the makes us think Cox is on the decks. Dirtybird has never been short of booty shaking groove and the Pilo collab ‘Denial’ is just that sound. Finally, title track ‘Instincts’ is an seductive march that makes you want to get down. Seriously though, in true DB style a sexual vocal with a charging drumbeat is guaranteed crowd shaker. Overall the EP provide a club ride ready for a techno summer.

As Jay eases into the spotlight with solid originals and support from the big man (Claude Von Strizzoke), you will surely be seeing more of him. From the studio to the main stage, Jay’s techno and house composition fits perfect from the Mediterranean beaches to NorCal park parties. Keep watch, and grab ‘Instincts’ on Beatport.
