By their standards, Mad Mats & Tooli’s Local Talk has been relatively quiet of late, but with the release of Eric Ericksson‘s ‘The Chi’ EP a few weeks ago we’re hoping for a resurgence of one of deep house’s best labels. A-side ‘Love It’ is my favourite by far – even better than the Oscar Offermann remix on the flip – with the Swedish producer grinding out a bumpy jam with analogue basslines and swinging fender grooves, sitting somewhere between classic Chi-Town house and thumping NYC house grooves. Having previously released music on labels like Planet E, Fragile and Freerange, he’s one of those producers with one foot in the techno scene and another in beautifully soulful house like this.
