13TRACKS – Off the beaten track Playlist – #thirteenisthenewten

Below are some highlights in new music from the past one or two weeks, plus some obscure favorites from around the globe including Spanish influence. Education as it’s more tertiary level, *insert pound-it hand emoji.* I present to you: 13TRACKS – Off the beaten track Playlist#thirteenisthenewten

1. Noir & Hayze – Angel (Hot Since 82 Vocal Remix)
Two of my favourite artists, Noir and Hayze, and Hot Since 82, have come together to create the most dirty bad-ass track. Extremely ambient, hypnotic and addictive –  it’ll swallow you whole.

2. Todd Terry – Real House
This.Is.Real.House.Music/Magic. Delve deep into a state of debilitation, and never return as you’re compelled to sell your soul to this beast.

3. TCTS – You feat. Sam Sure
WOW. It’s verging on harassment how many times I’ve listen to this (Soundcloud restraining order, in order?). TCTS’ entire Soundcloud is overflowing with gems, including a show with Nina Las Vegas.

4. 20syl – Ongoing Thing Feat Oddisee
Ongoing Thing is a purrrfect electronic hip-hop hybrid from France.. Completely feel good, addictive and a groovy journey on the off beaten track. On further inspection, 20syl has some other winners such as his remix of Schoolboy Q’s, The Purge.

5. ANDRU – WAILIN
Stoney Roads recently wrote an article on the importance of #GettingFamiliar with ANDRU. Since then, he has released “Wailin” and “Bells” on an EP. It’s insane how good he is, a sure Soulection or HW&W contender. As a student who works on the ANDRU project on the side, his beat making skills are beyond his years. Some people are just, #blessed. I cant explain it, you just need to listen.

6. Simion – You & I (Betoko Remix)
Supported by Kidnap Kid so you know it’s worth a listen 🙂

7. Hansel Knox – Believe (Original Mix)
Latino deep house for something different. With only 55 plays in total, this is SRSLY off the beaten track.

8. Point Point – Morning BJ. I don’t know what’s greater, the track title or artist’s name? Also, a great reflection of the music vibe this year.

9. AbJo – Montpellier
Released on Soulection (purveyor of da music goods; a no brainer), this exotic piece is smooth as hell. In AbJo’s own words, “I don’t know what the fuck kinda music to call this, just jam to it, damnit.” Oh and the genre? He tags it under the genre #lovelypianosandshit! Well put, AbJo, well put (if that is your real name…).

10. Phazz – invictus
A celebration of music. This abstract piece sounds as though it has been ripped apart into tiny pieces that slowly collect themselves together by the end. Brilliant.

11. Mikey Cyrus – Wrecking ball ( Kaelin Ellis Remix)
A pretty unassuming and rocking re-work.

12. De Hofnar & Dennis Kruissen – Ayo Technology (Bootleg)
I love everything De Hofnar touches and this is no exception. If Fiddy Cent was a childhood favourite, then this bootleg will hit all the sweet spots of your candy shop.

13. Craig David – Fill me in (Good Dish remix)
Craig David school by squeaks. Check it.
