WTF: What So Not Fan Pranks Radio Station

In a WTF for the day a slightly deranged girl called Maria has called up New Zealand radio station ‘George FM Drive’ claiming to be the vocalist behind What so Not’s breakout single “Jaguar Trap” as well as “the girl from embrace” among others in a three minute rambling conversation with the hosts.

Her inspiration for the tracks was during a ’10 hour party’ – which actually doesn’t sound too far off the mark in which she listened to conveniently a 10 hour mix with “50 songs” all of which she supplied vocals for. Right…

The peak of the convo really sets in when the hosts ask if ‘Maria’ is stoned right now which is met with plenty of giggles. The real vocalist and new Triple J House Party host KLP was quick to assure fans it was indeed her that wrote and sang those sweet sweet vocals.

Unsurprisingly New Zealand is checked a handful of times in the recent Global Drug Survey noted as having a high use of prescription drugs and legal highs. Maybe that ‘drug detection’ app launched in Un Zed this week isn’t such a bad idea.
