Turns Out Every Pharrell Williams Song Sounds The Same. Here’s Proof

Pharrell Williams

Update: We think Pharrells music is out of control good, this is just something not everyone would have picked up on including us.

Turns out the trick to creating hits is a lot simpler than you’d think if you followed the approach of Daft Punks right hand man Pharrell Williams with a quirky trait noticed in a number of his productions.

It was actually the guys over at Discopop who must be the biggest Pharrell Williams fans ever or have too much time on their hands, noticed that some of his productions both his own singles and for others has the same four-count at the start.

Ranging from recent hits “Happy” as well as “Gust Of Wind” from his latest album to Jay-Z’s “Frontin” and Kelis’ “Milshake” all share a  similar fist bar. Don’t believe us? Take a listen to a melody of 13-tracks all touched by the big hat wearing fella himself.

Some would call it lazy, others a mark if you will that has worked for countless artists especially modern day dance ones who use a particular chord or synth for almost every track or remix!

1. SWV – “Right Here (Human Nature Remix)”
2. Jay-Z – “Frontin’”
3. Kelis – “Milkshake”
4. Snoop Dogg – “Drop It Like It’s Hot”
5. Robin Thicke – “Blurred Lines”
6. Shakira – “Why Wait”
7. Frank Ocean – “Sweet Life”
8. Pharrell – “Brand New”
9. Paloma Faith – “Can’t Rely on You”
10. Pharrell – “Happy”
11. Pharrell – “Hunter”
12. Jay-Z – “I Wish”
13. Pharrell – “Gust of Wind”
