Diplo Sued Over ‘F**K Up The Fun’ Track

Two years after a 2012 dispute over an alleged copyright infringement the Dutch producer MasterD is suing Diplo & Azealia Banks over their track F**k Up The Fun.

Almost immediately after the release of the track it was met with skepticism around the sampling of MasterD’s track Mad Drumz. It seems that MasterD didn’t get the credit he asked for and is now turning to the legal playing field.

After the initial dispute in 2012 Diplo told Pitchfork, “These guys [MasterD and friends] are my homies. If anyone can really help break these underground movements it’s a young artist like Azealia Banks.”

Apparently two years after the issue dissipated that was not the case.

According to Re-Tox, “MasterD insists he was never contacted for permission to use his beat on ‘Fuck Up the Fun‘ prior to its release, and he most definitely didn’t “collaborate” on it.'”

Previously in 2012 Diplo had also acknowledged the frustation on MasterD’s end and added producer credit, “Diplo called his sole producer credit a mistake and quickly bestowed a co-producer title on MasterD.”

Diplo has been on the other side of the fence last summer when Flo Rida ripped off one of his videos although no legal action was involved. Any guess as to why the two-year-old dispute has resurfaced?
