Splendour In The Grass 2014 Lineup Announced!

The curators of Splendour In The Grass, Village Sounds and Secret Service, have done it again, boasting without a doubt the most stellar lineup to hit Aussie shores in 2014! Congrats. It’s always a tough task keeping things under wraps with regards to who may be rearing their heads in Byron Bay come July – that being said, there’s definitely some surprising and diverse additions that we’re definitely psyched for.

The big announcement that Outkast will be travelling down under to headline the festival hasn’t caught to many off guard – but this can not dampen our excitement to catch the Atlanta based duo in the flesh. We’re also super excited to see Interpol and Kelis making the journey after an Australian hiatus. London Grammar, Sky Ferriera, Foster The People and Lily Allen are also on their way, as expected.

Other acts we’re super pumped to check out see include Future Islands, Wild Beasts, Danny Brown, Jungle, Parquet Courts and Skaters.

The notable act for all the dance heads out there is obviously Darkside, a huge win for festival organisers, who’s quick return after their tour earlier this month has us slightly shocked. None of the acts we wanted to be making an appearance in our list of 5 acts we’d like to see will be joining us unfortunately. BUT there’s still a stacked lineup of formidable up and coming, and established, Aussie dance talent on the bill – including Wordlife, Wave Racer, Basenji, Kilter, Peking Duk, Cosmo’s Midnight, Indian Summer, LDRU & Yahtzel, Motez, The Kite String Tangle, Touch Sensitive, Sable and a smorgasbord of  other talented DJ’s – and some ripper international acts such as Buraka Som Sistema (who will play Friday and Sunday) and Chrome Sparks

This is guaranteed to be 3 days of fun in the sun/rain/mud. It’ll be happening once again at the North Byron Parklands for the second year running and we have been assured ‘improvements and extra curricular activities’ after a few first year hiccups including excessive toilet cues and up to 5 hour parking delays on opening day.

Tickets go on sale at 9AM on May 2 and come in at a reasonable $355 for a 3 day ticket (+ $99 for camping on site), or $149 for a single day. So spread the word, pool the dollars, save the date, grab ya gumboots and get purchasing tickets, cause they are going to sell like hotcakes!
