Skrillexs Nest HQ Collective Launch Free Singles Label

OWSLA boss Skrillex has been a busy man of late getting rowdy on Holy Ship 2014, releasing his impromptu debut album ‘Recess’, a spot on duel-Coachella weekends as well as the recently announced Glastonbury festival, potentially a two-track EP with What So Not and now, a free imprint via his  Nest collective.

Simply titled ‘Nest’, the label looks to stray away from any Skrillex/OWSLA influence and instead a broader look “into this culture…Our culture” with a string of free releases with the first from Brooklyn bruiser and Makers Mark enthusiast AC Slater who shares a few words about the release while also having a quick stab at the ‘put your hands up’ bullshit;

Back to the Floor is just a statement of where my head is at musically. Taking the focus from the superstar DJ concert back to the clubs. The whole “put your hands up” and shit is cool but it’s kinda played out for me personally. I want to focus more on the music and how it makes the individual feel. Everyone having their own experience and vibing out in the club rather than watching someone tell them what to do. It doesn’t have to be on 10 all the time. It’s okay to zone out and get lost in the music…

AC Slater remains an independent voice for producers who make club music for the clubs and with the additional backing of Skrillex and Nest only strengthening his mantra and output. Respect!
