New York Nightclubs Open Doors To 6 To 12 Year-Olds

Fuzipop

I would like to first start by apologising to anyone who reads this… because you are probably too old to be allowed into Fuzipop dance music parties.

The Pink Elephant and other major clubs around Manhattan and New York are being transformed during the daytime to a somewhat grey area play-pen for 6 to 12 year-olds accompanied by their parents. The party, that also sees a host of child DJs taking to the decks and dropping ‘EDM’, also hosts a myriad of professional dancers for the kids to enjoy while they run around chasing each other’s tails with glow sticks and juice boxes.

It’s never too early to be prepping the ‘next generation of city kids’, according to the Fuzipop website, with the event quietly offering the parents the opportunity to get tipsy off to the side. One CNN reporter quoted in what they saw:

“The bartender, who’s used to serving a liquored-up, over-21 crowd on Saturday nights, was surprised by how much the parents were imbibing. The most popular drink that afternoon was vodka.”

With entry at a hot $20 for a single tot  or $60 for a family of four, the promoter behind this idea must be doing pretty well. Cashed up parents, begging for a chance to drink a bit of booze vicariously through the mirage of a kids party.
