Last night Bonobo debuted on BBC Radio 1 for their Pete Tong-hosted, world famous Essential Mix series.

It comes after he released his fifth (!) album ‘The North Borders‘ last year on Ninja Tune, as well as playing 140 sold out shows including gigs around Australia and making into Resident Advisor’s Top 20 Live Acts. His long-overdue Essential Mix is ridiculously good, featuring unreleased cuts from Machinedrum and Martyn as well as his brand new remix of Maya Jane Coles’ ‘Something In The Air’ and London Grammar’s ‘Hey Now’. Over the two-hour period Simon Green also unleashes tunes from his previous album, as well as playing jams from the likes of Maribou State, Take Of Us, Tourist, Illum Sphere and more.
