Legendary Hip-Hop Producer Scott Storch Makes The Move To EDM

The name might not be familiar to those in dance circles but Scott Stochs beats are the foundations to countless 90’s and 2000’s Hip-Hop and RnB tracks including Dr Dre’s “Still Dre” and Fat Joe’s “Lean Back” as well as Justin Timberlakes “Cry Me a River” with his career actually beginning as one of the original members of The Roots (full discography here).

Although amassing a whopping $70 million net worth by 2006 he managed to acquire a nasty cocaine habit that along with purchase of a $10 million dollar Miami mansion, a 117-foot yacht and over 20 luxury cars of which 10 he purchased while high on cocaine meant an eventual arrest and visit to rehab and a little downtime for the pint sized producer.

What really pricked our ears was seeing countless photos of the ‘Tuff Jew Productions’ character at Ultra Music this year with snaps alongside Carnage, Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold and Afrojack, the later of which was hashtagged with #forgettheworld  – Afrojacks latest album.

This got us thinking that Scott Storch had possibly moved on from the previous money-maker of crafting beats for rappers and had instead leaped across to EDM to cash in on the big bucks of the current global trend of big dance tunes.

Additionally Dim Mak signee TAI has been posting photos as well as a video of himself and Stoch working together in the studio around Ultra music with some decent beats already being previewed.
