Hip-hop veteran DJ EZ Rock has died

DJ EZ Rock has died, with confirmation rising as long-time collaborator and childhood friend Rob Base posted on Facebook, “”RIP Skip (DJ EZ Rock) friends since 4th grade, I’m really going to miss you.” Players like Biz Markie and Funk Flex were also Tweeting about EZ Rock.

The Harlem duo of Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock are most well known for their 1988 single and album titled ‘It Takes Two’ (below), before they released ‘Break of Dawn’ back in 1994.

This tragic news comes immediately following the confirmation of footwork king DJ Rashad’s death yesterday, and house legend Frankie Knuckles earlier this month.

Recent Australian touree Oneman summed it up quite nicely, saying on Facebook, “RIP DJ EZ Rock. 3 legends gone in one month, Knuckles, Rash and now EZ Rock.. 3 DJs that changed the world. A sad time for the DJ community.” Rest in peace 🙁
