While East London’s Footsie is a grime boss in his own right through his involvement with the Newham Generals collective and his solo spittin’, he also notes his father has a huge musical influence through his own association with the veteran King Original Soundsystem group. So on Monday, it only made sense that he invited his dad into the Rinse FM studio for two hours of back-to-back roots reggae. Footsie’s old man – Father Waz – was brought in to promote the forthcoming release of the third King Original album, and by spinning dusty old sun-drenched records with his own son, well, I’ll probably cop the LP just ’cause that’s so damn cool.
