We are overly excited to announce that Giorgio Moroder will be gracing Australian shores for a very special project with the Sydney Opera House with the help of our friends at Red Bull Music Academy.

Having completed 3 studio albums, 10 soundtracks and 200 gold and platinum discs and a collaboration with French legends Daft Punk, the 74-year-old, who recently revealed THE synth that was used to make his song with Daft Punk, shows no sign of age, quoting:

“Everybody likes to dance, for ten minutes, an hour, ten hours. You forget your problems and it makes people happy. What helped the dance craze was the new kind of rhythm – you know, the bass drum, the four on the floor. Even I could go in a discotheque and dance… you almost have to dance… The 120 BPMs is a little like a heartbeat. Dance is now the pop of the world.”

The showcase is set to go down on the 1st of June and has three segments to it: A conversation with Morodor alongside a demonstration of his many tunes by the UK Heritage Orchestra, another free chat in front of the public in the Concert Hall foyer and a DJ set later in the evening.
