Flume Triple Threat – Proper World Tour, Limited Vinyl and Adventure Time Styled Music Video

Flume

You couldn’t write the success story any better for Australia’s ultimate break-out producer Flume who off the back off a wildly popular debut album, a re-release featuring an exhaustive list of guests, sold out tours locally and globally has now announced an extensive world tour.

With just a toe-dip last year stateside and a few other dates internationally comes the big whopper, a  30-stop stint that’ll see Flume visit everywhere from Chile to Argentina, Brazil, a string of US dates, Canada, France as well as the UK sharing what we’ve been developing downunder for the past twelve to eighteen months.

Better still has come a music video for “Space Cadet” feat Ghost Face Killah & Autre Ne Veut (watch below) from the deluxe version that was ‘directed by Jim Dirschberger and Jay Howell who work together on the Nickelodeon cartoon ‘Sanjay and Craig’ with the actual animation created by Howell who illustrates the FOX cartoon ‘Bob’s Burgers’ – nice!

Super fans can pre-order the deluxe version on vinyl that’ll also include a limited t-shirt designed by Howell himself.

More recently Flume earned a spot on Beatports illustrious awards taking home the ‘Best New Artist’ category alongside other winners Daft Punk, Nina Kraviz and Cajmere aka Green Velvet and releasing a collaborative EP with local bearded fellow Chet Faker.

With the fame comes the hard tale of releasing something new and fresh with Harley noting late last year the “poisons of success” as something to avoid post already having created radio hits;

“I don’t know how my brain works yet. I know how to make a record that commercial radio or Triple J will smash now … It’s kind of hard to stay true, and write what you would write if you didn’t have that in your head. Because I know I can get way more airplay and get this much bigger … and that’s what I’m trying to avoid doing. Trying to avoid the poisons of success.”

Exciting Australian duo Wordlife warned us in a recent interview of the “sub-par Flume clones” as something to avoid through 2014 and probably a good indication of the sounds that we’ll most likely be hearing locally in the next twelve months and maybe a springboard for Harley to move away from.

We’re equally looking forward to new What So Not tunes, his collaborative partnership with Emoh Instead of which was a new track with RL Grime that was previewed and played live stateside and already a proven club weapon with over 1.7 millions plays in a little over two weeks.
