It was his 27th birthday a few days ago, so to celebrate Manu Shrine released his five-track ‘Blame Us’ EP for free. Back in November 2013 I posted his ‘Annutara Ash‘ album, and I tipped it to big fans of Synkro, Versa and Dom HZ. This hasn’t changed, with all tunes covering aspects of future garage and future bass yet mostly centring on ‘chillstep’ and beautiful ambience; ‘Last Day’ features vocal work from Graciellita to work over the lush and wavy soundscapes while the rest are solo brilliance. I remember back in 2011 Australian dude Kid Kenobi made some mixtapes titled ‘Soulstep’, featuring jams on the exact same tip as this. It was a big thing for me at the time; before that I’d never heard dubstep in such a moody light. Peep volume 1 here and volume 2 here, if you dig what you hear below then definitely check those out.
‘Blame Us’ is out free of charge via his Bandcamp – check that out below.
