Benga Calls it Quits on DJing for…

Former Dubstep DJ Benga is slowly removing himself from spinning music altogether with the announcement he is calling it quits on his DJ career, instead opting for… love!

The British-based producer – who was one of the undoubted pioneers of the dubstep sound through his solo work and with Magnetic Man alongside Skream and Artwork – shared with his Facebook fans that he was now engaged to his long-time partner and what the next chapter of his life entailed, by stating:

“I’m engage [sic] to Holly-Jae Treadgold the love of my life, my djing career is finished i just wanna start a family. big up to all my real supporters its been a lovely time”

Which brings up the question, holy crap!! How rich is this guy to consider retirement so young?! Benga released his latest album, ‘Chapter II’ last year and has been making music for fifteen years despite being only 27 – he first rose to prominence alongside partner in crime Skream when, as teenagers, the pair became dubstep’s prodigal sons, crafting pioneering productions that helped shape the genre into a worldwide phenomenon.

He was thankful for the support through his career, although we hope he looks to continue to make music in the future. Maybe he could start writing dubstep lullabies for his baby? wob wob wob
