AMIT – The Parallel [AMAR]

With support already comming from the likes of Goldie, Machinedrum, Youngsta, dBridge, Marcus Intalex, V.I.V.E.K, Mala, Doc Scott and Randall, bass don AMIT follows up on the well-received AMAR001 with a new four-track EP for his AMAR imprint. Featuring collaborations from Rani and Tempa’s Nomine, ‘I’ll Cut You Down’ opens with mayhem thru tribal rhythms with Rani’s eerie vocals riding through the landscape, provoking us with soft-yet-evil vibes; similarly ‘Mr Clark’ with Nomine brings up brutal percussion, rebellious bass and haunting overtones. Flipside, ‘Your Native God’ outlines “the image of a person leaving their ancestral home behind” with Rani’s verses highlighting this through dub-influenced mechanics, while lastly, AMIT’s only solo-production on ‘The Parallel’ is ‘Daaku’, a dark tribal skanker with blue note stabs – India’s answer to Darth Vader steps in for a word or two on this. Bandit country!

Out on a 12″ and digital March 3.
