A-Trak Weighs In On ‘AFTER’ Late Night DJ Rules

A-Trak Selfie

Fools Gold luminati A-Trak has weighed in on those scathing DJ rules supposedly leaked by new Las Vegas Club AFTERs that looked to kick the norm of boring ‘EDM’ and even went to the extent of listing music from a number of producers that wouldn’t be allowed to be played in the club – ‘Do not play ANYTHING by the following artists’ inc Hardwell, Chuckie, Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Afrojack, Martin Garrix (douche) etc etc

It was an interesting idea and an obvious stunt to boost some PR for the new club (hence why we avoided posting it) and we always welcome an evolution within ‘EDM’ especially in a city that pays their residents $250,000+ to play the same tracks over and over but like A-Trak observed you have to be careful being a little to pure about your ideals as shared by the turntabalist;

Did you hear about this new Vegas club that posted these “rules” in their DJ booth? I guess they’re trying to stand for pure electronic music… I don’t really agree with everything they’re saying (no hip hop? come on) but I also understand the context in Vegas. Change is good, maybe these guys are a bit too stuck up the other way though. What do you think?

The club also cracks down on abusing the mic, using pre-mixed sets and a few other decent rules while also encouraging DJs to knock back music requests but accepting drink requests (lel). In other A-Trak news his project with Armand Van Heldon as Duck Sauce dropped four track EP ‘Duck Droppings’ as well as released a track with Cam’ron.

Check out the full list below, what do you make of it?
