New Zealand Club Owner Clashes with Carl Cox Over Racist Comments

New Zealand club owner Neil Andrews has clashed with Carl Coxs management after posting an explicit and racist update on his personal Facebook page about entry of certain races to his venue Famous located in Wellington, New Zealand.

Although on his personal the account the update was screenshotted and shared with industry types who were disgusted at the blatant racism of the seasonable DJ and club owner. The update, seen below;

“Just because we don’t let groups of creepy Indian rapists into the club doesn’t make us racist, they also don’t buy alcohol. Probably so they can be sober enough to tie up the sack and lift the body into the back of their hybrid taxi, while wearing oversized leather jackets and sports shoes”,

The story took a real twist when Carl Coxs management asked for the update to be removed and an apology issued before the superstar DJ was scheduled to play January 17th. Although Carl Coxs background is not that of Indian the management still believed it to be racially motivated and not the kind of marketing you want in the run up to a show.

Mr Andrews update has since been deleted and passed off as a joke with an additional offer to even host an Indian night with Indian DJs as long after stating “Yes, I am over the top in the way I do it at times, but it gets the issue and message out there. I certainly didn’t want to offend a whole race of human beings and for this I am extremely regretful.”

He still believes there is a problem with a minority of Indian men harassing women in more than just his own nightclub in the Wellington area. Regardless the update was distasteful and a rather stale way of shedding light on what could be another serious issue in New Zealand.
