Korg Playing All The Right Cards: From MS-20 Mini to MS-20 Kit

After recent successes with Volca series and MS-20 Mini, Korg takes it one step further with MS-20 Kit, which is a collection of modules that you can assemble yourself into a real, functioning MS-20. Yup, not the Mini. The real size. And you, not some engineer back at the factory, are the one who snap the bits and pieces until it becomes the thing we all love to play.  Yup, I hear ya.

The million dollar questions that keeps other manufacturers from following suit is whether the move will allow for a sustainable business and benefit them financially in the long run – pretty sure it’s neither easy nor economical to re-manufacture parts that used to be made thirty or forty years ago.

Personally though, I’d wait a lifetime if that’s what it takes from other makers like Roland and Yamaha to follow suit. There’s just something about these vintage analog babies that left me wanting more.
