Cashmere Cat Previews New EP ‘Wedding Bells’

Enigmatic Norwegian producer Cashmere Cat will release “Wedding Bells” – a new EP due out February 10th/11th worldwide through buzzing label LuckyMe that boasts releases from Hudson Mohawke, Machinedrum, DJ Yolobeat, Obey City and more.

The release is a perfect accession of his uniquely developed sounds that fuse club elements with RnB/Hip-Hop with his label already praising the EP highly;

“… Wedding Bells is the most distinct modern voice in hip hop and club music. Support to date from Kode 9, Éclair Fifi, Nguzunguzu, HudMo, Rustie, Baauer, A-Trak, Brodinski – We are honored to be working with CC to bring you his attempt at a perfect thing in an imperfect world.”

To us, “Wedding Bells” doesn’t worry about the overly loud approach but instead offers a clever wash of percussion, chimes and tight production keeping the focus on the elements as well as the drop.

Although unofficial we certainly got down to his unreleased and unnamed jam earlier featuring Ludacris, Jeremih and Wiz Khalifa as well as a more recent track “With Me” as part of LuckyMe’s advent calendar

Cashmere Cat will also be playing the national Laneway Festival alongside Four Tet, xxyyxx, Jamie xx, Danny Brown and more that kicked off in Singapore over the weekend with the first Australian date on the 31st in Brisbane. Dates and set times here.

Preview four snippets of the release below while reading up on fellow Nord Todd Terje who has just announced a debut album.
