Will.i.am At It Again – Did He Rip Off Avicii’s ‘Wake Me Up’?

Will.i.am is infamous for his stealing borrowing of other artist’s tracks without permission. Making headlines this year with the blatant rip off of Arty and Mat Zo’s ‘Rebound, it seems he is at it again this time while working on Britney Spears’ latest tune ‘Now That I Found You’ – but perhaps a little more subtly.

The similarities are there – the country/house fusion, the almost identical riff before the drop and the big commercial-house EDM chords thereafter. This isn’t exactly a copy and paste job, but there is enough there to say this track was more than just inspired by Aviciis country/EDM hit “Wake Me Up”.

What do you think though? Is this considered a rip-off, of the Swede (who’ll be in Aus early next year) or is this different enough to fly under the creative copyright radar? Either way, we think Will.I.Am stinks.
