Wet N Wild NYE Party Cancelled Leaving Punters Dry

Australias newly christened water park Wet N Wild Sydney have postponed their New Years Eve event today leaving punters not only pissed off but ultimately dry. The party organised by One Cube Entertainment and Trashbags looked to group together the louder spectrum of artists with internationals Gtronic, Haezer and F.O.O.L all billed alongside Australian warriors Will Sparks, SCNDL, Natnoiz and more have pulled the plug offering up ‘logistics’ as an issue to the cancellation.

Punters are outraged having shelled out almost $200 each for a ticket to a festival that was set to launch at 4pm TODAY with others expressing their disgust after having also paid for accommodation, travel and a host of other expenses.

A handful of unhappy punters comments smeared across the official Facebook event page.

Sheree Rachelle – It takes a lot to get me angry you have ruined EVERYOnES plans I work in entertainment media and tourism there is NO WAY you didn’t know this prior to today ! And ps it is absolutely disgusting that no one has let anyone know I was getting ready and got a screen shot sent to me from a friend from one of your many advertising Fb pages ! I am ashamed to say I ever worked for Warner village doing this to people on New Year’s Eve what about the families who used all their money the people who saved for their tickets or the people who travelled from far ? Refunding ticket money does not even come close to fixing this on New Year’s Eve . Transportation is not a reason to cancel ! Look at how many people you have let down !

Angus Baller Honey – What the hell are people who have already paid for transportation there and back meant to do ? thanks to you i’m out $40+ and have no chance of getting that back from the bus company, congratulations on ruining hundreds of people’s nye due to what i assume is probably some tiny little problem.

Brendon Stephens – you dirtbag pieces of shit wait til my mother hears about that

The event has been rescheduled to January 26th although organisers are offering up refunds for those unhappy with the current outcome. Official statement and instructions on how to get a refund through the Wet N Wild site.

Update: After poking around, a few connections can be made – It looks like One Cube Entertainment was only registered December 9th AFTER the event had been announced September 12th. Diving deeper it turns out the director of One Cube Entertainment turns out to be Diego Trash, the owner/director of Trashbags according to Linkedin

What it looks like is to protect the brand, a new entity with very little social presence has been created – One Cube Entertainment. Add in a few T’s and C’s about cancellations and any troubles with overselling an event, such as what could have happened with NYE Festival at Wet N Wild Sydney and the backlash shouldn’t be as bad for a long standing brand such as Trashbags.

This of course is all speculation until an official statement from One Cube Entertainment or a more details announcement from Wet N Wild lands. More updates as they happen.

Diego Trash

Update Update: That was quick, inside sources actually name the guys behind Supafest as joint owners along with Trashbags. Some might remember Supafest behind a string of failed Hip Hop events and even a festival earlier in the year. Another source points the blame at Wet N Wild for not appointing any transport options from Parramatta station.
