The first tune off Oneohtrix Point Never‘s September-released ‘R Plus Seven‘ LP for Warp has just received video treatment for what is possibly his weirdest yet most true and thought-provoking clip yet.

The album explored all of the strangely beautiful depths of experimental electronica, and is, in my opinion, still one of the best albums of the year, but while the record focused more on the art of listening itself the video falls superbly in line with the themes explored on it. It’s directed by John Michael Boling and tells a heartbreaking story purely through the use of contemporary emoji’s; the tale of someone tragic and unfortunate falling under the melancholy, grief and heartache of losing someone they love. And since ‘R Plus Seven’ is without-a-doubt his softest and most colourful record to date, the minimalist approach for the video of ‘Boring Angel’ suits perfectly. Check it out below.
