Touch Sensitive

Future Classic signed bass hero Touch Sensitive has touched base with us in the lead up to pre christmas dance music partay The Plot (Held in Sydney and Melbourne). Having ticked off a US tour with Flume and plenty of hits under Van She, we caught up with the accomplished producer for an online chin wag in which we spoke about tour buses, moustaches, favourite songs and more!

How does Touch Sensitive differ from Van She work wise? Do you prefer working in a group or on your own?

I like both, Fun things happen when i’m with Van She men but my role in that band isn’t the same as what i do in Touch Sensitive, it’s also good to have variety, we’re all very supportive of what each other does which is nice and even collaberate on stuff outside the band too

Hey Touch Sensitive, do you gain any special powers from your killer pants and moustache?

Yes i have a variety of power outfits although i just moved house so i’m forced to throw some out

How was touring across America with Flume? What were 3 highlights?

Touring with Flume was awesome! 1. The Luxury Bus 2. Lyndon the production manager and 3. drinking beers with Flume every night

If you looked back on your discography. What would be your favourite track you produced under both Van She and Touch Sensitive?

Touch Sensitive i would have to say the one i’m working on now that’s not out yet i’m most proud of and Van She would be some of the ones we never released but released would be “here with you” on the first EP

When did the element of live bass come to incorporating in your sets and why??

The live bass came when Chad and Nathan (Future Classic) suggested that i do a show and then booked me to play before Bicep at adult disco, they kind of threw me into the fire so to speak but it worked out, bass is my first instrument so it’s fun to play it again

Because of your long time spent with Flume in the US, did you guys get a chance to collaborate on anything? And are there any other collaborations in the works?

No we didn’t collaborate on anything but we spoke about it a lot
