Paul From Bingo Players Sadly Passes Away From Cancer

It is with great sadness that Paul Bäumer who is one half of Bingo Players has passed away from cancer.

Maarten Hoogstraten, the other half of the Players took to Facebook to tell their fans the very sad new saying:

‘Dear All,
I’m deeply saddened to tell you that Paul passed away last night after his battle with cancer. He fought strongly until the end.
We want to thank you all for your support over the past few months.
Needless to say, all upcoming shows for the rest of this year have been cancelled as we’re going through this loss with family and friends. We’ll post a longer update shortly with more information as well.
Paul, we will miss you.
– Maarten’

The announcement comes as a surprise to us after Paul originally sent a message out in July informing all concerning the news with his health issue. He indicated it wasn’t enough to stop him from working in the studio and running their label Hysteria.

The duo saw success with a number 1 UK hit in ‘Get Up (Rattle)’ and number 7 chart surfing ‘Cry just a little’ in their native Netherlands. It was only a year ago they were in Australia playing at Stereosonic 2012 in which we were very lucky to have our only encounter and party with Paul at Soho in Sydney. RIP Paul, you will be sorely missed by the dance music community.
