It’s Here But Would you Pay for Deadmau5′ New Subscription Service?

It hasn’t taken long for Deadmau5 to launch his new subscription service live.Deadmau5.com after giving us the low down back in November, having a quick jab at that ‘Flutes’ track and of course, eventually rolling it out today just prior to Christmas.

What we’ve learned so far is the service aims to consolidate the at-times unbearable management of all your social arms – Twitter, Facebook, Soundcloud, Instagram and Tumblr into one neat place as told by Joel to EDM site Dancing Astronaut;

“I imagined all the services I have used previously, why I used them, and why I needed to use 3 different services to express myself in various ways… and then after I figured that out, I had to ask myself why I needed to use so many different platforms? Twitter for mind vomit, Instagram for photos, SoundCloud for music… just seems kinda silly. But for some reason, it’s artist / industry practice to use Twitter / FB / SoundCloud and Instagram.”

Although free to sign up to, those that want to preview full songs, download them too, get involved in the forum and more are looking at a $4.99 monthly fee or an annual blip of $44.99. Joels business sense has also kicked into action with a little foresight given as to where he wants to take the platform and would could be a

“My long term and ‘out there’ dream of this site / application would be to kinda transform and create my own music distribution model, making what would be an independent artist, truly, independent of other unified and non unified systems.”

Would we pay for it? Maybe not right but of course if the reports are positive and you’re generally a big fan of Deadmau5 then there’s a good chance he’ll look after you.

Until then, watch what happens when geeks see Deadmaus live or get yourself a ticket to watch him live next year at Future Music Festival alongside Knife Party, Eric Prydz, Brodinski and many more.
