Future Classic Buy Into Local Boutique Touring Company

Big local news with the announcement that Future Classic, Flumes Australian label have bought into relatively fresh faced boutique touring company Brown Bear Entertainment – who recently brought out international DJs and producers Baauer, Bot, Booka Shade, Yuksek and TNGHT with additional tours for DJ Snake and Dillon Francis (alongside Soapbox) on the horizon.

The news dropped when Nathan McLay told themusic.com.au that; “the success that we’ve had has certainly opened doors to add to the depth of our services.” adding “Because touring’s a risky business we needed someone who has 100 percent investment.”

To the average punter this will see Future Classic beef up their international touring schedule with the help of certified professionals Anand and Jessica Krishnaswamy who will take on the labels touring interests exclusively with a nice even split in profits.

Future Classics’ past saw the label tour downunder European  guns Lindstrom, John Talabot and Tiger & Woods, as well as Lapalux and Cashmere cat for their Vivid showcase earlier in the year and will drag electronic duo Mount Kimbie around Aus for the Laneway Festival. The slow down in tours would have come to a head with the labels own artists taking the focus and more specifically the influx in popularity of wunder-kind Flume.

Interesting move, but one that will certainly see Future Classic evolve as a label.
