Turns Out Geeks Don’t Make The Best Live Deadmau5 Fans

It’s hard to kick the stereotype of geeks and their toys, more so with footage surfacing of Deadmau5 playing live at AWS Re:Invent. An event that totes itself as a ‘gathering of developers and technical leaders’ with 175+ sessions full of training bootcamps, hands-on labs, and even a Hackathon held in the ‘EDM’ capital of Las Vegas.

Although the similarities between Vegas, EDM and the fact Joel is a bit of a geek himself, the footage speaks loads that simply put… geeks can’t seem to get down to Deadmau5 without their trust smartphones, cameras or much enthusiasm.

Without knocking them too much, it was probably a thrill to have a self-appointed nerd play a smaller show for you and your fellow top tier IT experts and a chance to enjoy some great dance music without a sweaty kandi raver to your left or rolling munter to your right (huzzah).

In a win for the four-eyes Deadmau5 has taken a step towards the tech side of things as he looks ready to launch his own music subscription service set to face off against Soundcloud ‘without all the noise’ that and he hates that “Flute” track.
