Arguably the best two albums of 2013 have been that of Moderat‘s ‘II’ and Jon Hopkins‘ ‘Immunity’, so why not join forces and create something magical? Well, fantastic news people.
The three German producers from Modeselektor and Apparat are in no mood to slow down at the rear end of the year, as they’ve just announced yet another single set to appear from ‘II’. After a massive 12 months of touring, releasing their album, partnering with UNICEF for a meaningful music video, recording a ‘Groove’ DJ mix and having ‘Gita’ remixed by Anstam, Moderat are set to release ‘Last Time’, which has, up until now, only been available on the deluxe-edition CD. It will be out on vinyl next year for the first time, and will join an instrumental version, an alternate version and a remix by none other than electronic genius Jon Hopkins.
Also boasting an incredible year, apart from releasing ‘Immunity‘ Hopkins has written the beautiful film score to ‘How I Live Now’, delivered an impeccable FACT Mix and remixed Purity Ring in tremendous fashion. The double-10″ Moderat / Jon Hopkins union single can be pre-ordered here before it’s made available on January 17 via Monkeytown, when a video for the tune is also said to be arriving.
Also, any Perth peeps should definitely check out Slanted and Enchanted in December where Jon is headlining The Bakery! ♥
