Stream Logos’ nostalgic album ‘Cold Mission’

East London’s Logos will release his new album ‘Cold Mission’ November 18, in what we think is an appropriate title for a producer who’s been making weightless space beats for quite some time. Coming out on Dusk & Blackdown‘s Keysound Recordings – which has also been the home to influential releases this year from the likes of Walton, E.m.m.a., Etch and Visionist – the record will include collabs from the label heads as well as Mumdance and Rabit, for a long-play that’s sure to push the boundaries of this ‘new era’ of grime music.

Check out Logos‘ press release and how he talks of a ‘simpler time’:

“The title ‘Cold Mission’ is a nod to 4Hero … It was one of their aliases – and that whole era of London retro futuristic music … it’s also a reference to Digital’s ‘Special Mission’ and ‘Mission Accomplished’, both form part of a run of paranoid late ‘90s jungle masterpieces the equal of Tricky or Massive Attack. I’m interested in tracing the links between classic Metalheadz productions and early grime, especially the more angular stuff Slimzee played, but integrated in to a roughly 130bpm club context. A lot of the album is informed by nostalgia for pirate radio grime and the sense of loss I feel for that period – 2002 felt like a much simpler time.”

For what we think is set to be an extremely interesting album, it’s now streaming over at Pitchfork Advance before its release next week.
