The good sir option4 has been on a roll of late (I swear he’s got a stockpile of tunes and is meting them out). Here’s his latest, “Deep Diamonds”. He’s carved out a sound for himself that combines super-clean production with a sense of energy that plain works.

In “Deep Diamonds,” hard-hitting deep house soul backs up option4’s clicky signature swing percussion. Meanwhile a menacing, groaning bass solidifies the tune. Another bass layer -rubbery this time- and pads reminiscent of Phil Collins’ bring a sense of low-down bliss. Julie McKnight’s dare I say, legendary lyrics are laid over top and clear as a bell.
