Spanish producer Pional pumped out a FACT mix last week with a couple of mystery tracks thrown in alongside some gems from Four Tet, Daphni and Saint Etieene. Some uber keen fans had been searching desperately for the track by the unknown artist – and word was that Jamie xx was dropping one of the unidentified tracks at one of The xx’s Night + Day festivals.So we’ve got ourselves a fresh new Jamie xx track – ‘Untitled (Unreleased)’ – an instrumental extravaganza, interwoven with sparse and sporadic vocals, makes for a truly mesmerising six minutes of future funk disco. Can we expect a full-length from the youngster’s solo project prior to his arrival for Laneway at the start of next year? We bloody hope so.

In the meantime, we can look forward to him taking over hosting duties for BBC 6 Music for the Friday 6 Mix series on December 6, which will be choice!
