Broods – Bridges

While Australian music is at an all time high with a whole host of amazing producers, if you cast an eye off to the east, lingering in the shadows is its little forgotten cousin New Zealand. Here, in the land of the hobbit, if you dig a little you will find plenty of amazing up and coming musicians as well. On this occasion it is Broods, without comparing it too much to a certain 17-year-old NZ artist turned global superstar, ‘Bridges’ – the debut track from Auckland siblings Georgia and Caleb Nott – shows all the potential of replicating the successes of the aforementioned lord.

With its bold synth lines create a beautiful melody, which perfectly complements Georgia’s erringly beautiful, albeit dulcet tones. Meanwhile throbbing drum pads, and chilled vocal layering create all the elements of introspective indie and ebullient pop.

Fellow kiwis Chores have gotten in on the action, creating an upbeat UK garage version, playing on the optimistic sides of the severed ties alluded to in the lyrics. Enjoy both below for free download.
