Bag Raiders Bag On EDM: ‘The Whole Thing Makes My Skin Crawl’

US based Aussie producers Bag Raiders have voiced their discontent at the ‘EDM’ stream that has plagued dance music culture in America over recent years. In an interview with the pair earlier this month just prior to a return to Australian shores for a DJ tour, Jack Glass from the duo detailed:

‘Honestly, I kinda hate it. We’re sucked up into that scene in the fact that we sometimes end up playing shitty parties where we don’t really fit in. But the whole thing makes my skin crawl.’

The Modular signed producers who are now based out of the buzzing city of  Los Angelas and also played at this years TomorrowWorld discussed their two year hiatus and stint in creating the next album as well as the privilege of working with once out of reach big named artists and bands;

‘We work in more or less the same way but LA is inspiring in the fact that there’s so many people making music out here. And there’s so much music history. We’re constantly meeting and hanging out with people we look up to, sometimes buying (music) gear off them. And some amazing dudes (some from some pretty big bands) played on our record – not going to drop any names though!’

With such a long absence from any new material, it’s hard to predict how their sound will have evolved. If Sydney is lucky, they may road test some of their new stuff at a planned NYE appearance?
