Save the Date: Bonobo To Curate Next ‘Late Night Tales’ Compilation

After six stellar albums including ‘The North Borders’ earlier this year, Late Night Tales have finally come to their senses and called on Simon Green aka Bonobo to host their next self-titled compilation.

A soundtrack to be spent reclining to some parallel beats, the album is both sombre and reassuring, wrapped in delicately programmed drums from the likes of Lapalux, Badbadnotgood, the R&S-signed Airhead, Shlomo and Bonobo himself to name but a few, and is the fuel to keep the engine running. Pianos and brass are abundantly present while our ivories are warmed and tickled by the classics and new school, with Matthew Bourne’s mournfully beautiful ‘Juliet’ and Dustin O’Halloran’s ‘An Ending A Beginning’.  Switching it up from the evening electronica, Bonobo’s ‘Late Night Tales’ compilation also ‘ambles down to the riverside’ with the likes of the Hyptonic Brass Ensemble:

“…sit down and reflect and let those beautiful pianos skim the water’s surface. Sometimes, you think, life is good. You can’t play a symphony alone, it takes an orchestra to play it: Simon Green is your conductor.”

Bonobo‘s rendition of ‘Late Night Tales’ will be released November 17, but while we wait we can peep the killer tracklist as well as some teasers below, or you’ll be able to see him perform live with a band at Perth’s Southbound, each of the Falls Festivals or three select sideshows around Australia including the Sydney Opera House.
