Rain City Riot – Waiting For Me EP

Whilst listening to Shadow Child’s weekly Rinse FM Podcast there was a single tune that resinated over others during the show. This track was “Dim” from Rain City Riot. The Name not ring a bell? Well be sure to be on the look out for this British producer, with his first EP only just released days ago on Beatport, it’s sure be getting it’s fair share of air time.

All three tracks on the release are sure to get feet moving and animate dance floors. The title track “Waiting For Me” is quite the surprise package, starting off with some ominous synths it then plunges into some seriously gritty tech-house vibes. The track that initially caught my attention “Dim“, is the party starter. It’s guaranteed to get your feet stomping, with that deep rolling bass and irresistible rhythm. And finally, “Your Clothes” is the mediator of the EP. A slow and seductive deep house track, using hypnotic vocal samples and a heavy dreamy basslines sending you into a mesmerised state.

Not only is Rain City Riot a producer but he has also has started his own record label Rain Maker Recordings, in which this EP is their debut. With promising material coming from both RCR and his label they’re certainly a must watch in the near future.
